Washington, June 20 (ANI): Emma Roberts has expressed her desire to play the lead role in the proposed movie adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', because she wants to do something racy, despite not having read the novel yet.

The novel narrates the story of a young college graduate, who is introduced to the world of bondage and kinky sex by manipulative billionaire Christian Grey.

Everyone says read 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I don't really understand. But everyone on the plane was reading it, and I was like, 'I should probably just get it', Contactmusic quoted her as telling MTV News.

I haven't read it, I don't even understand, but yeah, it sounds awesome. Anything racy, hot. Sure, let's get hot, she said.

Recently, Selena Gomez refused to play the lead character in the flick, claiming that the role was too spicy for her and said that someone older should do that part.

On another occasion, 'American Psyco' author Bret Easton Ellis suggested that Scarlett Johansson should take on the role and he even offered to write the script in a series of tweets.

I'm putting myself out there to write the movie adaptation [of 'Fifty Shades of Grey']... This is not a joke. Christian Grey and Ana: potentially great cinematic characters, he tweeted.
