Washington, June 16 (ANI): Catherine Zeta-Jones has admitted that she loved playing a baddie in 'Rock of Ages'.

The 42-year-old actress stars in the new movie based on the Broadway musical of the same name, set during the 80s glam metal era.

The Welsh beauty has played the role of conservative Patricia Whitmore, who tries to close down the Bourbon Room.

The actress admitted that she jumped at the chance to portray an unpopular character.

It's just a movie that lends itself to having a blast. It's larger than life and we got to sing all these 80s songs. I had a lot of fun with my character because she's like the odd one out in a way and I got to play the baddie. She's a nightmare of a woman; absolutely horrible, Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

And while the actress took time out to raise her kids, she has lots of new projects in the pipeline and is delighted to be back at work.

I do enjoy working, I love the camaraderie of being on a set. I love being in the theatre. I just love what I do, she said.

I feel like at this time in my career, I'm 42, I'm not going to be the ingenue for the rest of my life. So I'm happy with the type of roles that are coming my way, she added. (ANI)
