Sydney, November 2 (ANI): Lady Gaga has revealed what art means to her and how it has heavily influenced her persona and music.

The 23-year-old singer linked her unusual wardrobe and shocking stage antics to her passion for the aesthetics.

I'm a performance artist and this is what I do. Art is a lie and every day I kill to make it true, she added.

The Poke Face hitmaker further explained the idea behind her shock performance at this year's MTV Awards when she left the audience gasping as she writhed on stage with fake blood flowing from her chest and eyes.

She said: That, for me, was the first truly original thing I've done. I wanted to do something that was emblematic of the death of celebrity.
